Mark passed away Friday, November 15, 2024. He was born October 2, 1968, in Ada to Veldon and Jennifer Oakley Baxley.
Mark lived life to its fullest every day. He loved life, his family, and his friends. He never met a stranger. It didn't matter if you were 5, 55, or 95…Mark was going to find something in common with you. And just like that, you were going to have a friend for life.
Mark grew up in the Moore, OK area and attended school there. He made many childhood friends and those friends; he still spoke to them to this day.
He eventually moved to the Ada area where he attended and graduated from Ada High School. After graduating, Mark started his career path at Solo Cup Co. He began as a forklift driver, then maintenance mechanic, and eventually Department Manager. He spent 24 years there and made many friends that are still close friends today. It was also there that he met and married the love of his life Lisa Willoughby.
After leaving Solo, Mark started his Snap-On career as a franchise owner. But always striving to move up he became a Franchise Developer, then a Sales Developer. This job was a challenge that he took on whole heartedly. If you were a customer, a franchise, a manager, you knew he was going to give you 110%. He wanted his guys to all be successful. If it was 7:00 a.m. or 9:00 p.m.…if you called…he was going to answer.
When his work day was finished, he was usually heading to a gym to catch one of his kid's basketball games. He loved a good game and he was their biggest fan.
In his spare time, you could find Mark catching that Nascar race…or any race for that matter. He loved his Sooners…and always backed his cowboys…winning or losing.
He was a huge, huge music fan. He loved listening to all kinds of music, although, rock was his favorite.
Free time was scarce, but he did love to travel. Trips near with friends, or far to visit family in England, it was always a great adventure.
Mark was such an influencer to all, as a businessman, friend, in-law, nephew, brother, husband, dad…but most of all "POPS". He will truly, truly be missed by all.
Survivors include his wife, Lisa of the home; daughter, Ashleigh Baxley of Ada; brother, Brian Baxley of Ada; two sisters, Kandi Barnes and husband Michael of Chickasha and Shaunna Baxley of Chickasha; three grandchildren, Alexus Belcher, Trinity Belcher, and Quenton Jackson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and the many friends that were like a brother.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bearers are Mark Davis, Steven Gann, Kenny Choate, William Wear, Levi Koch, and Rocke Derockey. Honorary bearers are Brian Baxley, Ryan Baxley, Austen Shaw, Rylee McGehee, Gunner Baxley, and Ryan Baxley Jr.
