MARGIE ROSS
ADA-Services for Marjorie "Margie" Ross, 69, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church, Dr. Pat Kilby and Rev. Jerry Wells will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Ross died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at a local hospital. She was born January 27, 1943 in Ada, Oklahoma to Mayo and Melba Myers Cottingham. She attended Willard grade school and graduated from Ada High School in 1961. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master's degree in Education from East Central University.
She married Jon M. Ross on December 17, 1961. Mrs. Ross was an Elementary School Teacher in Oklahoma and Nevada for over 20 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ada.
Survivors include her husband, Jon Ross, of the home; a daughter, Shelley Hamby and her husband Jim of Ada; a son, Max Ross of Bermuda Dunes, CA; two sisters, Carrollee Cottingham of Ada, and Cathey Lamb of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren, Kuira Ross and Jonathan Ross; three step-grandchildren, Alison Raymer and her husband Scott, Elizabeth Thompson and her husband Philip, and Kathryn Conrady and her husband Chris; two great grandchildren, Jacy and Sasha Raymer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be Shane Foster, Jamey Hutchings, Shawn Stephenson, Dave Schwartz, Travis Lamb and Randall Ross. Honorary bearers will be Jim Conway, Ted Hedrick, Don Hutchings, Larry Hill, Johnny Hodges, Dr. Rick Coleman and the Thursday Night Bridge Group.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to the East Central University Foundation, c/o ECU, P. O. Box Y-8, Ada, OK 74821; or the First Baptist Church, Fall's Creek Building Fund, 521 S. Broadway, Ada, OK 74820.
