MARION BRUMFIELD
PONTOTOC-Services for Marion Bird Gregory Brumfield, 87, Pontotoc, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. Dewayne Baker and Keith McIntyre will officiate. Burial will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada.
Mrs. Brumfield died Sunday, October 10, 2010 at her home. She was born October 3, 1923 at Mt. Vernon, Indiana to James Everett and Annora Beatrice Clark Gregory. She attended the University of Cincinnati and the University of Colorado where received a Bachelor of Science degree and a Master's degree in Nursing.
She married Hilton Watson Brumfield on February 21, 1948 in Cincinnati. She taught nursing for many years in Rochester, Minnesota. She and her husband moved to Ada in 1980 from Milwaukee, Wisconsin and she began nursing at Carl Albert Indian Hospital when it opened in 1980. She retired from Carl Albert Indian Hospital in 1993. Mrs. Brumfield was a member of the Ada Shrine Club and the Tishomingo Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include her husband, Hilton Brumfield, of the home; three daughters, Judi Brumfield, Edina, Minnesota, Ann Noahubi, Connerville, and Pam Brumfield Holyoke of Minnesota; two sons, Jim Brumfield, Kasson, Minnesota and Greg Brumfield, Ruthton, Minnesota; fifteen grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter and daughter, Marilyn Sue Norton; and her parents.
Honorary bearers will be Dell Boyd, Jeff Brumfield, Matthew Brumfield, Joshua Brumfield, Logan Nelson, Stephen Noahubi, Nickolas Noahubi and Sean Menke.
