MARGUERITE BURTON
PICKETT-Services for Marguerite A. Burton, 96, Pickett are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. David Sutton will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Burton died Monday, January 10, 2011 at a local nursing home. She was born May 24, 1914 at Cumberland, Oklahoma to Elmer and Ivy Dunham Barnes. She attended Aylesworth grade school and graduated from Madill High School. She moved to Ada in the 1930's.
She married Walter T. Burton on December 31, 1955. Mrs. Burton was employed with Stall's Photo Studio here in Ada. She moved to Bartlesville and managed Franklin's Dress Shop and later moved back to Ada in 1981. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Walter Burton, of the home; a brother, Marvin Barnes, Pickett; a sister, Christine Morris, Minco; three nieces, Almeda Harrel, Ada, Beverly Johnson, Austin, TX and Cheryl Parks, Minco; two nephews, Larry Morris, Moore and Kenny Morris, Mustang; and special great nephews and great nieces and great great nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Irene Marion and Mary Kathryn Jones; and three nephews, Mike Barnes, Ronnie Jones and Jerry Whittle.
Bearers will be Travis Reust, Troy Reust, Kenny Morris, Larry Morris, James Doyle Marion and Gerald Harrel.
