MARGIE CATES

ADA-Services for Margaret Jean "Margie" Cates, 78, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Oak Avenue Baptist Church, Rev. Ray Talbott will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Cates died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at a local hospital. She was born January 1, 1930 at Gaar Corner, Oklahoma to Tollie Raymond and Ruth Louise May Walker. She lived in this area all her life and attended Glenwood Elementary and Ada High School.

She married Thurman Milton Cates on June 19, 1948 at Ada, Oklahoma. Mrs. Cates was a checker at Humpty-Dumpty Grocery Store for many years. She was a member of Oak Avenue Baptist Church and a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Ada.

Survivors include her husband, Thurman Cates, of the home; two sons, Bruce Allan Cates and wife Janie, Mannford, and Roger Dale Cates and wife Stephanie, Ada; a brother, Bennie Ray "Sonny" Walker, Ada; a sister, Billie Fay Taylor, Healdton; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two nieces; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tollie Raymond and Ruth Louise Walker, and a son, Gary DeWayne Cates.

Bearers will be Bruce Allan Cates, Jr., Mark Andrew Cates, Jeremy Lynn Cates, Brandon Tyler Cates, Buckey Edward Sutton, and Gregory Mark Walker.
