Maple
Hamilton
April 7, 1943 – November 10, 2021
Maple Colbert Hamilton was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother during her incredible 78 years of life. She went peacefully into the presence of the Lord on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.
Maple Hamilton had a blessed and full life. She was born on April 07, 1943 in Ada, Oklahoma to two God-fearing and loving parents, Buck and Lucy Colbert who were pillars of faith in their community.
Maple Hamilton attended school in Ada before she transferred to school in Stonewall. She has happily recalled the friendships made, and time shared with kind classmates and teachers during a time of integration.
Maple married Willie J. Hamilton and to this union were born 10 children. They were inseparable during their marriage of 61 years as witnessed by many. They raised their children in the admonition and presence of the Lord.
Maple Hamilton, a skilled interior decorator and cook, loved spending time in the kitchen creating delicious meals daily for her loving husband and large family. On special occasions, she helped cook for her church family.
Maple Hamilton gave her life to Jesus Christ at a young age. She joined Pleasant Hill Baptist church under the pastoral care and leadership of her uncle, Rev. Jim Colbert. She gladly served in the church and faithfully attended services.
Maple Hamilton loved the Lord with all of heart, soul, and mind. During her active years, she led songs in the church Choir, conducted devotion, and participated in church skits. She was active in the Mission committee and held various offices.
Maple Hamilton was always ready to tell her testimony about the goodness of the Lord and of his faithfulness to her and to her family. She lived her life with an attitude of gratefulness and never lacked for any good thing.
Maple Hamilton was a faithful Intercessor who prayed at church and at home consistently. She woke up early and entered her prayer closet. She knew how to talk to the Lord and often quoted this scripture:
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, From whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth." Psalm 121:1-2 KJV
Maple Hamilton was unwavering and militant in her Christian walk with the Lord. She knew without a doubt Heaven was her home. She trained up her children in the way they should go and taught them the importance of God's word.
