MAMIE FARNHAM
ADA-Services for Mamie Frances Farnham, 79, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Rollow Chapel of the First United Methodist Church, Rev. David Daniel will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Farnham died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at a local hospital. She was born August 22, 1932 at Paoli, Oklahoma to Charlie and Martha Harvey Arney. She graduated from Paoli High School and attended East Central University in Ada.
She married Jerry Farnham on October 31, 1952 in Coalgate, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 28, 2006. Mrs. Farnham was employed with the Ada Chamber of Commerce for 30 years, retiring as the Manager of the Chamber of Commerce. She was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church of Ada, an original member of the Ada Hobo Club, and was a tireless and enthusiastic supporter of local community efforts.
Survivors include a daughter, Dr. Peggy Farnham and her husband, Dr. Charles Nicolet, of Los Angeles, CA; a granddaughter, Emily Nicolet of Edinburgh, Scotland; a son, Mark Farnham, Pauls Valley; a brother, Clifford Arney, Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Pat Arney, Oklahoma City; a sister, Charlsie Coventon, Oklahoma City; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Bearers will be Tracy Scheer, Joel Stafford, Roger Gaddis, Dwight Eidson, Kenny Sliger and Floyd Gurley. Honorary bearers will be Clifford Arney, Denny O'Dell and Jim Stevens.
