LORENE DIXON BALLARD
ADA-Services for Mae Lorene Dixon Ballard, 91, Ada are 2:00 p..m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, her son, James Dixon will officiate. Burial will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery.
Mrs. Ballard died Sunday, January 30, 2011 at her home. She was born June 1, 1919 in Pontotoc, Oklahoma to William Arkie and Barbara Holmes Harris. She attended Pontotoc grade school and graduated from Pontotoc High School.
She married Truman Dixon. He preceded her in death in 1962. She later married Claude Ballard. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Ballard was a nurse at Valley View Regional Hospital for over twenty years and a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, Truman Dixon, Alaska, James Dixon and wife Mary, Ada, and Dickie Dixon, Ada; one daughter, Barbara Booker, Waco, TX; six grandchildren, Cody Dixon, Jared Dixon, Truman Dixon, Allison Adams, Chris Dixon, and Rachel Dixon; three great grandchildren, Amanda Adams, Michael Adams and Luke Dixon; three sisters, Nina Worthington, Tyler, TX, Novetta Gross, Amarillo, TX, and Oda Pearce, San Antonio, TX; and a brother, Glen Harris, Ada.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, A. T. Dixon and Claude Ballard; and her brothers, Homer Harris, Weldon Harris, Lee Harris, James Harris, C. R. Harris and Paul Harris.
