Madelyn Quinlan
Roehl
August 9, 1953 – June 4, 2019
A FLOWER IN THE GARDEN OF LIFE
Madelyn Quinlan Roehl, age 65, departed this world June 4, 2019, after years of courageously living, as Ernest Hemingway would say, "with grace under pressure". Though fighting an illness that would ultimately rob her of her breath and mobility, she continued to live her life to the fullest, smiling joyfully, with rarely a complaint and always with a devoted husband at her side. In love since they were 14 and 15, Madelyn and Tim Roehl married young and together raised three children, Stacy, Bryan and Michael, who in turn gifted them with eight grandchildren. In Madelyn's mind, and in her heart, it was her family who made her wealthy and they, in turn, treasured her.
Madelyn was born August 9, 1953, in Bronxville, New York, to Franklin and Rosemary Quinlan, one of six siblings. She attended Prospect Hill Elementary, Cardinal Mooney and Pelham Memorial High Schools. She later attended, and graduated, from the University of South Florida with a BA in American Studies.
She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority; was Sweetheart of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity at Emory University; Debutante of the Pelham (NY) International Garden Club and a member-in- good-standing of the Marie Selby Botanical Garden, Sarasota, FL. With eyes as blue as the waters off Anna Maria, she loved visiting the Florida beaches where she had a second home.
Madelyn leaves her beloved husband, Timothy Roehl of the home; her children: daughter, Anastacia Emerson and husband, Scott, of Ada, along with their children, Madylyn, Jack and Robert; son, Dr. Bryan Roehl and wife, Hayden, of Ada, and children, Johnathan, Matthew and Coen as well as son, Michael Roehl and wife, Kate, of Parrish, Florida and their children Aidan and Liam; brothers John and Jerry Quinlan and sisters, Kathy Baldwin and Elizabeth Dussault, as well as her loving canine companion, Moses. She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Danny.
The family wants to thank the awesome, brilliant and loving doctors who cared for Madelyn through the years and who probably extended her life by a decade.
