LORENA MCNEAL
ADA-Graveside services for Lorena McNeal, 91, Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Monday at Rosedale Cemetery, Rev. Forrest Weast will officiate.
Mrs. McNeal died Thursday, November 10, 2011 at a McLoud nursing home. She was born March 20, 1920, in the Egypt Community, Pontotoc County, Oklahoma, to Joseph Richard and Lela Mae Dollarhite Martin. She lived in this area most of her life and received a Bachelor's degree from East Central University.
She married Erskin Leo McNeal in 1939. He preceded her in death May, 1980. Mrs. McNeal taught Home Economics and English at Varnum and Big Pasture schools. She also did alterations for the public. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sanger, Texas, formerly a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Ada. She was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Chapter.
Survivors include three sons, Erskin Leo McNeal, Jr. and his wife Mary of Sanger, TX, Richard Jackson McNeal and his wife Virginia of McLoud, and Edward Vance McNeal of Ada; two sisters, Ruby Jewel Bittle of Ada, and Ruth Fullinghim of Oklahoma City; two sisters-in-law, Margie Vandegriff of Ada, and Lorene Martin of Las Cruces, NM; seven grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
