MABEL CLAIRE HENSLEY
ADA-Services for Mabel Claire Hensley, 99, of Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. David Daniel, Rev. Scott Kinney, Dr. Robert Escamilla and Rev. Bob Langston will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Hensley died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Ada, Oklahoma. She was born June 22, 1913 in Danville, Illinois to Clyde Bushnell and Maud Ballard Bushnell. She received her Associate Degree from Bacone College, Muskogee, Oklahoma.
She married Kenneth Hensley on June 17, 1934. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2006 after 71 years of marriage. Mrs. Hensley was a homemaker. She was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church where she was very active. She was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class, Ruth-Rachel Circle, Ada Garden Club, Ada Artist Association and spent 26 winters at Twin Palms in McAllen, Texas.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat Gurley and husband Floyd of Ada and Sue Kinney and husband Scott of Yukon, Oklahoma; six grandchildren, Russ Gurley and wife Fionnuala of Ada, Chris Gurley of Ada, David Vandewalker and wife Pamela of Marietta, Georgia,Bethany Henderson and husband Steven of Jacksonville, North Carolina, Nathan Kinney and wife Heather of Yukon, Oklahoma and Kaleb Kinney and wife Kacie of Moore, Oklahoma; ten great-grandchildren, Megan Snyder and husband Brent, Griffin Gurley, Cait Gurley, Caoimhe "Keeva" Gurley, Gracie Henderson, Emma Henderson, Abby Henderson, Hannah Kinney, Lydia Kinney and Roslyn Kinney.
She was preceded in death by a daughter Linda Vandewalker.
Bearers will be Nathan Kinney, Kaleb Kinney, Russ Gurley, Chris Gurley, David Vandewalker, Floyd Gurley, Scott Kinney and Griffin Gurley. Honorary Bearers will be her Fellowship Sunday School Class.
