ADA-Services for M. R. Tucker, 83, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Southwest Church of Christ, Floyd Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow at McGee Cemetery near Stratford.
Mr. Tucker died Thursday, November 15, 2012, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was born March 6, 1929, at Summers Chapel, near Ada, to Lee and Ollie Wood Tucker. He attended Summers Chapel grade school and graduated from Vanoss High School. He received a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from East Central University.
He married Joy Blevins in 1948. She preceded him in death on August 26, 1991. He later married Ruth Magar on October 17, 1992. In 1948, Mr. Tucker began teaching at Civit. He later taught at Yeager, Galey and retired in 1986 at Vanoss as an elementary school teacher and principal. Mr. Tucker attended Southwest Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Tucker, of the home; three daughters, Dot Hood and husband Bill, Cathy Prater and husband Robert, all of Moore, and Londa Parker of Ada; five grandsons, Randall and Susan Hood, Moore, Shawn and Andrea Prater, Moore, Scott Prater, Moore, Montana Martin, Ada, and Chris Martin, Ada; three granddaughters, Starla and Scott Campbell, Carrollton, TX, Amy and Justin Cornelson, Tuttle, Sarah and Desmond McCaffery, Blanchard; seven great-grandsons and seven great-granddaughters, Sabrina Bailey and Hannah Hood, Mackenna and Tate Prater, Zoe Simpson, Baylee and Connor Campbell, Dillon and Shelbey Cornelson, Kaden and Asher McCaffery, and Shane and Summer Martin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Joy Blevins Tucker; a brother, Paul Tucker; and a grandson, Brian Prater.
His grandsons will serve as bearers.
