Lynda Lou McCraw

Lynda Lou (Irby) McCraw, former resident of Konawa, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

A graveside memorial will be held on May 9, 2026 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Konawa, Oklahoma.

Lynda was born on January 12, 1940, in Konawa, Oklahoma, to Delmar and Clio (Bowerman) Irby. She attended Konawa High School until 1956, when she left school to marry Jimmy Ray and begin her life as a Navy wife. She later returned to complete her education and earned her GED after settling back in Konawa.

Lynda married James “Jimmy Ray” McCraw on February 16, 1957. During the early years of their marriage, they traveled extensively throughout Jim’s 22-year career in the United States Navy. Following his retirement, they made their home in Konawa, Oklahoma. Lynda was a proud Navy wife and devoted homemaker.

She spent most of her life caring for her family as a homemaker. Although she worked outside the home at times, her greatest joy was taking care of her grandchildren and her home. She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, and watching her favorite game shows. Lynda was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who adored her family.

Lynda was preceded in death by her husband, James McCraw; her daughter, Cynthia; her parents; three brothers; and five sisters.

She is survived by her daughters: Janet Chance and husband Darryel of Sparks, Oklahoma; Judy McCraw of Shawnee, Oklahoma; and three adoptive daughters, Anita Neal and husband Mark of Stratford, Oklahoma; Erica Worcester and husband Andy of Ada, Oklahoma; and Chelsea Danner and husband Jerrod of Shawnee, Oklahoma.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Corie Chaney and husband Mike of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Skye Ferrell and husband Derek of Sparks, Oklahoma; as well as 13 great-grandchildren.
