LULA THOMPSON
FRANCIS-Graveside services for Lula Elizabeth Thompson, 91, Francis are 10:00 a.m. Saturday a Cedar Grove Cemetery in Francis, Rev. Brian Scroggins will officiate.
Mrs. Thompson died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at an Ada nursing home. She was born February 2, 1920 in Cookson, Oklahoma to Thomas Kye and Mary H. Parson Carlile. She attended Chilocco, Sequoyah and Drumright schools.
She married Lloyd C. Thompson on May 8, 1942 in Sedan, Kansas. He preceded her in death on September 22, 1971. She and her family moved to this area about 1945. She later married Arlie Black in September, 1973. He died in 1987. Mrs. Thompson was a caregiver, provider and a homemaker and a member of the Galey Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy Canada and her husband Curt, Galey; daughter-in-law, Jean Thompson, Ada; one brother, Clifford Andrews and his wife Rosalee, Drumright, OK; two sisters, Judy Weaver and her husband Bill, Nacogdoches, TX, and Nadine Holland, Marmac, OK; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Sue Hogue; a son, Thomas Thompson; a granddaughter, Darita Canada; three sisters, Pauline Andrews, Mary Lester and Ethel Marie Fowler; and one brother, Loyal Andrews.
