LOWELL WATSON
OKLAHOMA CITY-Services for Lowell Watson, 91, Oklahoma City, formerly of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Frank Trent will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mr. Watson died Saturday September 5, 2009 at a Norman Veterans Center. He was born April 15, 1918 at Gerty, Oklahoma to Tom and Carrie Wallace Watson. He was raised in the Beulah/Calvin area during his school days and graduated from Atwood High School. He attended Tishomingo Jr. College and East Central State College in Ada. Before going into the military, he worked for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. He served in the U. S. Army Air Force from March 1943 to March 1946 serving one of those years in India.
He married Imogene Bunnell of Omaha, Nebraska on June 29, 1946 in Holdenville, Oklahoma. In August 1946, he obtained employment with People's Electric Cooperative and retired after 37 years of employment. After retirement in 1983, he went back and worked as one of their dispatchers for a few years. Mr. Watson was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene "Jean" Watson, of the home; daughter, Marleene Watson Cupps and husband Fred, Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Effie Cupps.
He was preceded in death by his parents, nine siblings and his daughter, Donna Jean.
