LORENE SCOTT
ADA-Services for Lorene Marguerite Crow Scott, 95, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Earl Hood will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Scott died Saturday, January 21, 2012 at her home. She was born May 23, 1916 at Carthage, Missouri to John David and Etta Lee Eddith Brittain Crow. She and her family moved to this area when she was an infant. She attended Beebe grade school and graduated from Vanoss High School. She graduated from Draughn's Business School in Oklahoma City.
She married Leo Scott in 1940 in Ada. He preceded her in death on September 11, 1973. Mrs. Scott was the co-owner and operator of Scott's Store at Beebe and she was the Beebe correspondent for the Ada Weekly News. She was a longtime member of Oil Center Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she taught Sunday school, and was later an active member of Calvary Pentecostal Holiness Church in Ada. She was also a member of the Home Demonstration Club.
Survivors include her daughter, Donna Kay Scott of Ada; a son, Don Lee Scott of Kansas City, MO; a granddaughter, Pam Scott Pierce and her husband Mark of Kansas City, MO; great grandsons, Drew, Caleb, Jacob, and Seth Pierce, all of Kansas City, MO; and great granddaughters, Courtney, Emma, Abby and Sarah Pierce, all of Kansas City, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Sherry Lee Scott; sisters, Gracie Mae Hayes, Hazel Magdalene Mayfield, Lois Marie Meek; and a brother, Bill Crow.
Bearers will be Don Henson, Rusty Hudson, Steve Meek, Rick Sanborn, Scott Sellers, and Jeramy Sellers. Honorary bearers will be Earl Sullivan, Jerry Sellers, Leonard Briley, Veldon Prince and Ronnie Stevenson.
