LORENE BURNS

COALGATE-Services for Arkie Lorene Key McCarty Burns, 88, are 2 p.m. Monday at Brown's Funeral Home Chapel, Coalgate. Harry Lundgaard will officiate. Burial will follow at Coalgate Cemetery.

Ms. Burns died Saturday, March 3, 2012, at a Coalgate hospital. She was born July 1, 1924, to Mack and Alma Ingram Key in Boswell. She attended Coalgate Schools and moved to the Ada area in 1952. She married Truett McCarty in Coalgate, Feb. 17, 1939. They had five children. They resided in Ada from 1952 to1971 when Lorene moved to Tulsa where she later met and married Don Burns.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Lundgaard and son-in-law Harry of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Betty Peru of Butler, Pennsylvania; two sons, Truett Keith McCarty and daughter-in-law Sharon of Allen, and Richard McCarty and daughter-in-law Rhonda of Collinsville; two brothers, Jack Key of Muskogee, and Walter Key of McAlester; two sisters, Wanda Cheney of Kingston and Jo Ann Watson of Ardmore; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mack and Alma Key; both husbands, Truett McCarty and Don Burns; two brothers, Roy Key and Charles Key; three sisters, Marie Johnson, Ruth Austin and Virginia Shepherd; and one son, Tim McCarty.
