LORENE DUNCAN
WORSTELL-Services for Lorene Frances Duncan, 93, of the Worstell Community, west of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. Steve Gardner and Earl Hood will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Duncan died Monday, December 12, 2011 at a local hospital. She was born September 20, 1918 in Emory, Texas to Jimmie T. and Alice Tyree Teters. She and her family moved to the Ada area about 1928. She graduated from Latta High School.
She married Paul Howard Duncan on May 4, 1952 in Pontotoc County. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2001. Mrs. Duncan was employed with North American Aviation in Texas during World War II and later at McLellan's and J. C. Penney Stores in Ada until her retirement. She was a longtime member of Union Hill Baptist Church. Mrs. Duncan was a talented seamstress and an avid gardener.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Martin Duncan, Sr. and his wife Nancy Morris Duncan of Ada, and Fredrick Ellsworth Duncan and his wife Sandi of Ada; 8 grandchildren, Jerry Martin Duncan, Jr. and his wife Celeste, Staci Lynn Davis and her friend, Danny George, Gregory Steven Duncan and his wife Megan, Lindsey Michelle Duncan and friend, Joe McCarthy, Allen Shafer and his wife Kasey, Carmen Sue Raper and husband Chris, Scott Lee and wife Monica, and Kyle Lee and wife Amy; 14 great grandchildren, Laura Ashley Duncan, Forrestt Gage Duncan, Virgil Paul Davis, Reese Duncan, Addison Duncan, Sam Duncan, Brent Sharp and Charles Sharp and Dakota Shafer, Jade Coale Raper, Hannah Raper, Colton Raper, Natalie Lee and Lilly Lee; a special nephew, Bobby K. Hudson and his wife Faye, their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Roy Teters, Troy Teters, Jimmie Teters and Alvin Teters; and four sisters, Lois Hudson, Eula Brecheen, Charm Gray, and Cleon Gray.
Bearers will be Marty Duncan, Jimmie C. Teters, Mike Teters, Greg Duncan, Forrestt Duncan and Virgil Davis. Honorary bearers will be Lawrence Archer, David Golden, Glen Golden, Gavin Jensen, Loren Choate, Johnny Barney, Bob Gray and Gene Steele.
