LORENE ANDERSON
BROKEN ARROW-Services for Lorene Veach Anderson, 97, Broken Arrow, formerly of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Susan Rice will officiate. Burial will follow at Wells Valley Cemetery near Bromide.
Mrs. Anderson died Saturday, February 8, 2014 at a Broken Arrow care center. She was born August 14, 1916 in Connerville, Oklahoma to Hollan C. and Nannie R. Chester Veach. She attended school at Plainview and Wapanucka.
She married William "Red" Anderson April 1935 in Tishomingo, OK. Bill and Lorene relocated to Fitzhugh in the early 1940's and then on to Ada in 1951. They moved to Broken Arrow from Ada in 1961 where Bill went to work for Martin Marietta Cement. Mr. Anderson preceded her in death on September 11, 1987 in Broken Arrow. Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She served as a homeroom mother at Washington Elementary in Ada and a 4-H Club Sponsor at Fitzhugh.
Survivors include three sons, Grady R. Anderson and wife Nancy of Meeker, Bruce Anderson and wife Ruth of Claremore, and Steve Anderson of Gore; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister, Leatrice Bouse and her husband Fred of College Station, TX; and a brother, James Isaac Veach of Del City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Louise Smiddy and her husband Billy; and an infant daughter, Louella in 1937.
