LORENA HOWRY
FITTSTOWN-Services for Lorena Pearl Howry, 89, Fittstown, are 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Dale Howry and Ken Howry will officiate. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery.
Mrs. Howry died Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at a local nursing home. She was born July 29, 1921 at Tupelo, Oklahoma to Charlie and Cora Bell Gray Blevins. She lived in this area all of her life and attended Onward Grade School in the Fittstown area.
She married Boyd Virdell "Red" Howry on January 21, 1940 in Fittstown, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 6, 1997. Mrs. Howry was a homemaker and a member of the Fittstown Baptist Church for many years. She was a Sunday School teacher for the Beginner's Class.
Survivors include one son, Dale Howry, Fittstown; her grandchildren, Pam Rhyne and her husband Pete, Ada and Ken Howry and his wife Lisa, Fairmont, WV; 8 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Boyd Virdell "Red" Howry, brothers, Arthur Blevins, Troy Blevins, Bob Blevins and Charles Blevins; a sister, Ruby Blevins Davis; a daughter-in-law, Sue Howry; and a grandson, Dee Howry.
Bearers will be Freddie Craig, Lonnie Foster, Matt Milum, Jack Miller, Buddy Covington and Kenneth Johnson. Honorary bearers will be R. V. Brady and Terry Jack Johnson.
