LORENA DERRYBERRY
TULSA-Services for Lorena Derryberry, 93, of Tulsa, formerly of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Ada, Rev. David Daniel will officiate. Interment will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Oak Hills Cemetery in McAlester.
Mrs. Derryberry died Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at a Tulsa hospital. She was born November 16, 1921 in Schulter, OK to George W. and Tennie Clara Murphy Story. After attending schools and graduating from Pittsburgh High School, she attended Hershey Business College in McAlester.
She married J. B. "Bill" Derryberry in September 1944. He preceded her in death on November 23, 1983. Mrs. Derryberry worked at the Smart Shop in Ada for many years. She was a member and volunteer of the First United Methodist Church in Ada for nearly 50 years. She moved to Tulsa in December 2011.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Ann Corvin and husband Glen of Jenks, and Reba Ward and husband Mark of Edmond; three grandchildren, Russell Corvin and wife Jaime of Tampa, FL, Josh Ward of Edmond, and Amanda Ward of Edmond; two great grandchildren; three nieces; a nephew; several great-nieces and great nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Derryberry; two sisters, Georgia Cannon and Billye Winfrey; a brother, J. P. Story; and two brothers-in-law, O. B. Cannon and Juel Winfrey.
Bearers will be Mark Ward, Glen Corvin, Josh Ward, Russell Corvin, Alan Jarvis and Josh Stanley.
