Lola Colbert

Private services for Lola Jean Colbert, 67, of Ada will be held at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada. A Reception will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Ada Elks Lodge.

Ms. Colbert passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 in Atlanta, GA. She was born November 23, 1952 at Chicago, IL to Timothy Longley and Vickie Reust. She and her family moved to Ada when she was a child. She attended Napier Grade School, graduated in 1970 from Douglas High School, Oklahoma City, and attended Rose State College.

Ms. Colbert retired from the Department of Human Services in Ada. She loved to cook, bake and was known for her family "tea cakes". She enjoyed singing, sewing, knitting, reading and she had a love for writing.

Lola was a member of St. James Church of God In Christ since her early twenties where she raised her children in church and she was a member of the choir. Her family meant everything to her.

Survivors include her only daughter, Sennora Brown, Atlanta, GA; oldest son, Brian Colbert, Orlando, FL and youngest son, Jesse Colbert, Oklahoma City; her grandchildren, LeAndre Brown, Tyrah Colbert, LeYana Brown, Treylan Yarbrough, Trent Yarbrough, Samara Colbert, Ja'kiya Colbert and Jaycee Colbert; her great-grandchildren, Rylee YuVonne Brown and Kayse Braxton Bullock; her siblings, Linda K. Frazier, Ethel Daniels, Rosa Manns, Marvin Gibson and Ricky Gibson; a host of nephews, nieces, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandmother, Annie Bowman; aunt, Goldie Wright; uncle, Clem Pierce, Jr.; great-aunt, Ernestine Lowery; and other family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sherrie Silverstein, Nurse Brandy, the medical team at Emory Hospital, her children and her family who she was extremely close to. Family meant everything to her.
