LOIS POE

ADA-Services for Lois Jean Poe, 81, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Joe Dixon will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Poe died Monday, January 11, 2010 at an Oklahoma City hospital. She was born November 13, 1928 at Glenfield, Pennsylvania to George W. and Gladys Puckett Miller. She attended Glenfield elementary and high school and then she and her family moved to Ada and she graduated from Ada High School in 1946.

She married Morris Poe on October 10, 1948. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2009. Mrs. Poe worked at Little's Candy Kitchen, Continental Can Company, Hazel Atlas Glass Company, and later she and her husband owned and operated Ada Greenhouse. She was a member of Oak Avenue Baptist Church, Tanti Study Club and a member of her neighborhood "Piddle Club".

Survivors include a daughter, Susan Cartmell and her husband Larry, Ada; a son, Scott Poe and his wife Shana, Ada; five grandchildren, Jenny Cartmell, Norman, Mike Poe, Ada, Lori Poe, St. Peters, MO, Lauren Poe, Norman, and Charlesey Youngwolfe, Ada; two sisters, Evelyn Sye, Sewickley, PA and Doris Bickham, Ada; and a sister-in-law, Marvanelle Walker, Healdton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, William (Bill) Miller.

Bearers will be Jack Wilkerson, Clint Sturdevant, Calvin Bickham, Kendall Cartmell, Dr. Larry W. Cartmell, Jr., and Bob Jeter.
