Obituary

Elizabeth (Liz) Ann Frasher Lee, 61, of Durant, passed from this life on Sunday, June 11 in Ada.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 16th at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Ada, led by John Burnett, Chaplain, Mercy Hospital, Ada. Cremation services are under the direction of Criswell Funeral Home.

Liz was born January 6, 1962 in Hartshorne to Bobby Ed and Pauline Cioni Frasher.

Liz was very proud of her Italian heritage. She was especially close to her maternal grandparents, both Italian immigrants, Santi and Minnie (Silva) Cioni. Liz told a story from her childhood where she asked her grandpa (Pops) if she could have some spare change to buy some candy the following day after school. Pops asked Liz how many children were in her class at school; Liz promptly gave him a rundown of all the kids in her class. He told Liz that if she was going to have a piece of candy, then all the children should have a piece too! Pops obliged Liz's innocent request with enough to cover candy for the class. She was, of course, delighted and would remember and carry that gesture of thoughtfulness and compassion into her adulthood. Liz would prove to be a most generous person, helping out anyone who needed it, whether she knew them or not, family, friends, co-workers, patients and strangers on the street, delivering that generosity with her effervescent personality, always and without fail!

Liz was a 1980 graduate of McAlester High School. She was a cheerleader for the wrestling team and a football queen attendant her senior year. Liz was also the Class Secretary for the class of 1980.  During the 1980s, she attained a bachelor's degree in Psychology/Sociology from SEOSU, Durant and her Nursing degree from ECU, Ada.

Liz was a registered nurse for over 30 years, working in various capacities and locations. She most recently worked at Mercy Hospital, Ada, as the House Supervisor, where she continually made a concerted effort to boost and maintain morale, both with staff and the patients, especially during the Covid epidemic. She spoiled her co-workers and patients often with gifts and food and loved doing it with no expectations of reciprocity.

Yes, Liz was a "spoiler" in the best way, before she had her own child, she spoiled her two favorite nephews to pieces, Danny and Shane. Then she would return them home to me and they were little hellions for a couple days before settling back down! She loved them so, forever. Then, she had her son Parker, whom she adores. He and his wife Christen blessed Liz with two precious grandchildren, Harlow Elizabeth and Ross Eugene. Liz, was of course, over the moon with her grandbabies; she was and will always be "Nonna" to little Harlow and Ross.

Liz is survived by her son, daughter-in-law, granddaughter and grandson: Parker, Christen, Harlow Elizabeth and Ross Eugene Lee of Silo; "bonus son", Darrin Wright, Cairo, OK; sister, Tricia Frasher of Krebs; sister-in-law, Carmie Frasher, Haileyville; nephews and families: Shane Webb, Krebs; Bryce, Cheyenne and Adlynn Dunigan, Oklahoma City; Brian, Samantha, Holden and Hayden Frasher, Ft. Worth, TX; niece and family: Melissa, Lee, Emma, Jacob and Sadie Swartzfager, Corry, PA; cousin, Michael Cioni of Tyler, TX; favorite cousin: Chris Fields, Washington D.C.; lifelong friends: Jamie Britton, Loretta Bowers and Kimberly Ellis.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Pauline Frasher; brother, Robert Frasher; grandparents, Santi and Minnie Cioni; nephew, Danny Webb Jr.; and loving friend Jeff Jordan.

Honorary pallbearers are her "boys": Seth Humphrey, Tyler Usher, B.W. Frazier, Darrin Wright, Colton Wood, Shane Webb and Bryce Dunigan.

The family asks that expressions of sympathy be made in the form of contributions to your nearest homeless shelter in her name.
