JIM GOODWIN
ADA-Services for Lindy "Jim" Goodwin, 84, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Zac Christian will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Goodwin died Friday, November 25, 2011 at a Tulsa hospital. He was born August 12, 1927 in Stratford, Oklahoma to John Ralph and Betty Elizabeth Jackson Goodwin. Mr. Goodwin lived in California and later moved back to this area in 1957.
He married Betty June Vinyard in California. They were married for 60 years. Mr. Goodwin was a machinist in the aircraft industry and later a self-employed truck driver and was a local oil business owner. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Goodwin, of the home; eight daughters, Paula Farquhar and her husband Tony of Tulsa, Peggy Miller of Ada, Viola Kurtz and her husband Paul of Tulsa, Lindy Rising and her husband Jerry of Ada, Sharon Keeling of San Leandro, CA, Brenda Tuttle of Broken Arrow, Carolyn Shewmaker and her husband Mike, of Broken Arrow, and Melinda Goodwin of New York; three sons, Bob Bratcher and his wife Leslie of Stonewall, John Goodwin and Rodney Goodwin, both of Ada; 35 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Ralph and Betty Elizabeth Goodwin; two sons, Jimmy Fred Goodwin and Patrick Taylor Goodwin; two daughters, Carol Strain and Karen Minor; one sister; and three brothers.
Bearers will be his grandsons, Bill Miller, Jason Goodwin, Brian Goodwin, Taylor Goodwin, Travis Goodwin, and Brent Bratcher. Honorary bearers will be Skyler Forrester, Josh Miller, Tony Northcutt, J. C. Goodwin, Luke Goodwin and Jimmy Don Goodwin.
