Linda Hoover

Linda Susan Hoover, 76, of Ada passed away Friday, September 5, 2025, at her home.  She was born May 15, 1949, in Modesto, CA to Leon and Valentine Williams Braddock.  Viewing will be held at Criswell Funeral Home on Friday from 11:00-8:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Hoover earned her Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice.  She worked as a Correctional Officer, Administrator for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections at the Mabel Bassett Correctional Facility, and she was a Private Investigator.  For over 20 years, she worked with the homeless and the Outreach Center of the Jesus House Ministries. She opened the first homeless shelter in Ada at the Colbert's Dairy serving God's children.

Linda did fashion design of blueprints for dress design and décor for formal and informal wardrobe and work attire. She was a devout Christian serving God and the Kingdom of Heaven to further the Father's Kingdom.

She loved her family with the fire of a hundred women. She was strong, courageous and always used her whole heart whether you agreed with it or not.

You don't meet many people described as virtuous, but the virtue she carried was a virtue like no other, often shunned and dismissed.  Never was she forgotten nor mistaken by God for she walked in his Grace, Mercy and protection through life's present turmoil and hardships. Never losing faith, but was more of an overcomer.

Survivors include her son, Joshua Hoover, of Ada; daughter, Jahanna Hoover of Ada; sister, Debbie Smith of Ada; step-sister, Judy Reed-Page of Ada; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Danny Lee Hoover; two children, Kevin and Misty Smith; sister, Pam Braddock; step-mother, Delores Braddock; and niece, Tina Braddock.
