Lillie Wisdom

Graveside services for Lillie JoAnn (Brown) Underwood Wisdom, 86, of Pontotoc, OK are 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2020 at the Seeley-Blue Cemetery in Connerville. Julienne Judd will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wisdom passed away Sunday, November 15, 2020 at an Ada hospital. She was born June 19, 1934 to James and Josephine Sealy Brown at East Jesse, OK. Lillie was a full blood Chickasaw and attended Carter Seminary aka Bloomfield Academy in Ardmore through the 8 ^th grade.

She married Noah Wisdom May 17, 1950. He preceded her in death in 1984. Mrs. Wisdom worked as a Nurse's Aide, Holt Nursing in Tishomingo; Nurse's Aide, Jan Frances Care Center, Ada; and private home care with the community. Lillie was a member of the Seeley Chapel United Methodist Church for many years. She loved yard work and being outside. She was also active at the Chickasaw Nation Senior Site in Connerville and the care-taker for the cemetery.

Survivors include her daughters, Lela Wisdom Beckwith (Terry) of Berlin, NH and Ina Wisdom of Pontotoc; three sons, Noah Wisdom, Jr. of Ada, Johnson Wisdom and Nelson Wisdom, of the home; eight grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; son, George Wisdom; brother, Jackson Collins; sisters, Annie Underwood Johnson, Dorothy Underwood Fox, and Betty Underwood Cully.

Bearers will be Noah Eddy, Larry Eddy, Corey Eddy, Kevin Wisdom, Jay Wisdom, and Larry Colbert. Honorary bearers will be Hershel Hamilton, Larry Fox, Jefferson McDonald and Kanan Wisdom.
