LILLIAN KIDWELL
ALLEN-Services for Lillian Elizabeth Kidwell, 81, Allen, are 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church of Allen, Rev. Chad Kaminski will officiate. Burial will follow at the Allen Cemetery.
Mrs. Kidwell died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at a Shawnee Hospital. She was born December 12, 1926 at Francis, Oklahoma to Jacob Huey and Ola Mae Whizenhunt Horn. She graduated from Francis High School. She has been a lifelong Pontotoc County resident.
She married Leon Ausborn Kidwell on July 13, 1952 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. He died August 31, 2001 at Allen. She and her husband were owners and operators of a retail merchant store in Allen. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Allen and served as a church secretary, a member of the choir and supplied funeral meals. She was also a member of the FCE , formerly known as the Home Extension Club, she was the national rainman of Allen and received a 20 year pin, she was a member of the Allen Chamber of Commerce and served as President for one years, and she was a member of the Rural Mail Carriers Auxiliary. She received many ribbons and awards at the Pontotoc County Fair for her sewing and cooking events.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Glave, Eureka Springs, AR; three grandchildren, Ed Moore and his wife Hope, Ada, Angela Watts and her husband Donnie, Oklahoma City, and Riley Moore and his wife Mary Yandell, Ada; a sister, Dorothy Bailey, Francis; a brother, Alfred Horn and his wife Carolyn, Oklahoma City; seven great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Bob Horn, and a sister, Ruth Bottoms.
Bearers are Donnie Watts II, Richard Bailey, Ed Moore, Melvin Moore, Riley Moore and Daniel Larmay.
