MOZELLE DAVIS
MUSKOGEE-Services for Lillian Mozelle Davis, 90, Muskogee, formerly of Roff, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Davis died Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at a nursing home in Muskogee. She was born February 26, 1920 at Caddo, Oklahoma to J. A. and Gracie Holcomb. She graduated from Roff High School and attended East Central University in Ada.
She married Dave Davis on June 3, 1939 in Ada, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1991. During World War II, they lived in California and Florida. They moved back to Oklahoma and her husband was a driller on water and oil wells and Mrs. Davis was the bookkeeper for the company. In later years, Mr. Davis was the State President of League of Postmasters for Oklahoma and Mrs. Davis became the head of the Ladies Auxiliary and traveled the state with him.
She was a member of the Roff United Methodist Church, a member of the Pontotoc County Home Demonstration Club, and a 50 year member of the Roff Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star where she served as Past Worthy Matron. Mrs. Davis was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane Davis, Muskogee; many nieces, nephews, cousins; a brother-in-law and a sister-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Norma Holcomb.
