Lewis R. Crain

Services for Lewis "Buddy" Raymond Crain, 88, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd Kaiser will officiate.  Family and friends may call at Criswell Funeral Home Tuesday, July 20, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Mr. Crain passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 at his home.  He was born in Seminole on July 24, 1932, to Lewis Raymond and Bess Tiner Crain. He graduated from McLish High School then enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. He went to San Diego, Ca., for basic training before serving as a scout sniper in the Korean War with Platoon 74, he received a Purple Heart for his service and was honorably discharged Oct. 20, 1953.

He married Leatrice Joy Kelly February 18, 1953, in Harden City at the Church of Christ after the evening service. Mr. Crain worked for Atlantic Richmond Refinery as a chemist for 10 years, he and Lea lived in Lovington, N.M., he was then employed at Humble Oil Refinery for 3 years in Fittstown before he became a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years. He was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Lea of the home; his son Timothy and wife Shawn Crain of Perkins, sister, Debra Cherry and husband Bill Bailey; grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Gary Connell, Anchorage, Alaska, Russell and wife Halley Crain, Perryton, TX, Leslea and husband Nathan Hale, Norman, OK, Britny Richardson, Tulsa, OK; five great grandchildren Kylea and Katie Hale, Noah and Maddie Jarvis and Raegan Crain.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patsy Winton, son, Lewis 'Eddie' Crain of Perryton, TX.
