LEWANNA MILAM

ADA-Services for Lewanna June Milam, 87, Ada, are 10:00 A.M. Thursday at Colbert Baptist Church, Revs. Bob Payne and Earl Hood officiating. Burial follows at Allen Cemetery in Allen, Oklahoma. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mrs. Milam died on Monday, August 23, 2010, at her home. She was born April 12, 1923, in Wann, Oklahoma, to Fred and Alvis Ungles Cornelius. She graduated from high school at Dewar, and was a homemaker. She served as a WAC in the U. S. Army Air Corps, serving as an air traffic controller and France and England. She was a member of the Ada Art Club and Colbert Baptist Church.

She married Ted William Milam on April 17, 1942. He preceded her in death on January 18, 2005, in Ada.

Survivors include two daughters, Pam Fox and husband James, Ada; and Lana Stowers Matheron and husband Ernie, Ada; one son, David Rose and wife Stephanie, Broken Arrow; ten grandchildren, Delayna Alexander, Sheila Stewart, Chad Jumper, Christa Hefley, Shawn Stowers, Amanda Holman, Brian Rose, David Rose, Kathy Tucker and Kim Fox Jones; numerous great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Carl Edward Cornelius and George Wayne Cornelius; two step-sisters, Bernice and Geneva; and step-mother, Pearl Cornelius.

Bearers are Greg Stewart, Paden Stewart, Chris Lollar, Cody Hayes, Jessie Alexander and Robert Hunt. Honorary bearers will be the Deacons at Colbert Baptist Church.
