LESTER REED
ADA-Services for Lester Darrell Reed, 86, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Gary Jamar and Eugene Hobbs will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mr. Reed died Saturday, January 3, 2009 at an Ardmore hospital. He was born September 8, 1922 at Blanco, Oklahoma to Gus Leon and Kathleen Robinson Reed. He attended school in Antlers and moved to Ada in 1958 from Antlers.
He married Lillian Ruth Boyd on August 8, 1945 at Paris,Texas. She preceded him in death December 20, 2008. Mr. Reed was an Auto Mechanic, a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church and had served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include two sons, Danny L. Reed, Ada, and Darrell B. Reed and wife Debbie, Sherman, TX; grandchildren, Kristi Reed and Carlie Reed, Brett Reed, Brianna Wheaton, and Ashley Reed; great grandchildren, Brooklyn Wheaton, and Juliet Wheaton; and a sister, Lois Cheatwood, Borger, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Raymond Reed, Leonard Reed, and Eddie Reed, and a sister, Rachel Wright.
Bearers will be Kristi Reed, Hezzie Carter, Eric Littleton, Dewayne McKenzie, Josh Aleman, and David Snider. Honorary bearer will be Todd Young.
