LESTER KYMES

ADA-Services for Lester Hansford Kymes, 89, Ada, are 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Charles Kymes, Carl Wills, and Mike McGaha will officiate. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka.

Mr. Kymes died Sunday, August 31, 2008 at his home. He was born March 15, 1919 at Talihina, Oklahoma to Arthur Charles and Maggie Lee Reich Kymes. He and his family moved to Sasakwa, Oklahoma when he was four years old and he attended Sasakwa schools.

He married Hazel Chism on August 27, 1946. Mr. Kymes was a heavy equipment crane operator for Trend Construction Company for many years until his retirement. He was a member of the Sasakwa Church of Christ and had served in the U. S. Army during World War II from 1942 until 1948 in England, Italy and Africa.

Survivors include his wife, Hazel Kymes, of the home; two sons, Charles Kymes and wife Nancy, Broken Arrow, and Dennis Kymes and wife Cheryl, Ada; one daughter, Barbara Frantz and husband Doug, Mustang; and three grandchildren, Stacy Kymes, Tyson Kymes, and Kristi Connors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Harrison Kymes and Nelson Kymes, and three sisters, Annie Williams, Neeley Peercy, and Velma Reed.
