CONNERVILLE-Services for Leslie Dale Clark, 62, Connerville are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Crosspointe Church, Rev. Mickey Dalrymple will officiate. Burial will follow at Connerville Cemetery. A Wake service will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Criswell Chapel.
Mr. Clark passed Sunday, February 22, 2009. He was born February 3, 1947 at Lawton, Oklahoma to Leslie Wellington Clark Sr. and Malsie B. Brown Clark. He attended Talihina schools and graduated from Talihina High School in 1965. He attended Eastern Oklahoma State in Wilburton and Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee where he received a Bachelor of Art degree in Religious Studies. He attended Southwestern Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas and the Criswell Center for Biblical Studies and received a degree from the Master.
He married Deanna J. Clark May 1, 1971 in Talihina, Oklahoma. He was a minister of the Gospel of Christ and pastored seven churches. Rev. Clark entered into evangelism in August, 1997 and was a missionary of the Choctaw-Chickasaw Baptist Association. He had missionary tours across the United States, Central America and Uganda, Africa. Rev. Clark served in the U. S. Navy from May 1965 to June, 1969.
Survivors include his wife, Deanna J. Clark, of the home; three sons, A. Brett Clark and wife Erin, Arlington, TX, Trevor D. Clark and wife Kristi, Stratford, and Jared F. Clark, Connerville and Jennifer Clark, Mounds; seven grandchildren, Cooper and Carter of Arlington, TX, Trevor Clark Jr. and Jesse Clark of Stratford, Clareese, Trenton, and Morgan Clark of Mounds; his brothers, Leslie W. Clark Jr., and Lewallyn Cochran; his sisters, Tiajuanna Kaye Hickman, Margo Arnold, Molette Cochran, and Martha Joreen Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, Abel B. Brown, Jennie Gilbert Brown, Salina James Brown, Clifford C. Clark, Amanda Harris Clark, a baby sister, Jennie Clark, and other aunts and uncles.
Bearers will be Sammy Hickman, Barry Johnson, Joshua Cochran, Gerie Lewis Jr., Gerren Walker, and Ira Walker. Honorary bearers will be Terry Don Lewis, Ty James, Cecil Coble, Shain Lewis, Alvin Walker, and Leslie Samuel Walker.
