Obituary

Leona "Nonie” Mae Holland, age 99, passed away peacefully at home in San Angelo, Texas, on May 28, 2026. A Celebration of Life service will be held on June 3, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Stonewall First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Jesse Cemetery in Jesse, Oklahoma, where she will be laid to rest alongside loved ones who preceded her in death.

Nonie was born on October 24, 1926, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to Benjamin F. Robertson and Millie B. Davis Robertson. She lived a long and meaningful life marked by love, dedication to her family, and a quiet strength that guided her through nearly a century of change.

On December 24, 1945, she married Jimmie A. Holland in Clayton, New Mexico. Together, they built a life centered on family, hard work, and enduring values.

Nonie is survived by her daughters, Donna Bryant and husband Jack of Granbury, Texas; Sharon Cross and husband John of San Angelo, Texas; and her Oklahoma daughter, Charlotte Gregory of Stonewall. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Connie Mitchell, Coy Payne, Kit Payne, Syrena Moreland, Greg Lovelis, and Jason Cross; along with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie A. Holland; her parents, Benjamin F. Robertson and Millie B. Davis Robertson; and other beloved family members who welcomed her into eternal rest.

Throughout her life, Nonie was devoted to her family and found great joy in the generations that followed her. She will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom, resilience, and the love she shared with those around her.

Her family finds comfort in the many cherished memories she leaves behind and in the legacy of love and strength she passed on to future generations.

Leona “Nonie” Mae Holland will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
