LENA SIMPSON
ADA-Services for Lena Orum Simpson, 87, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Morris Memorial Baptist Church, Rev. Gary Jamar will officiate. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Simpson died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at her home. She was born October 23, 1923 at Fitzhugh, Oklahoma to Henry Everett and Jennie May Peterson Orum. She graduated from Fitzhugh High School.
She married Mart Thomas Simpson on January 28, 1946 in Salina, Kansas. He preceded her in death August 24, 2001. Mrs. Simpson was a nurse's aide at Valley View Regional Hospital, retiring after 23 years of service. She was a member of Morris Memorial Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son, Edward Simpson and his wife Pam, Henderson, Colorado; three daughters, Donna Hayes, Tishomingo, Jodi Standon, Ada, and Annette Simpson, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Brandon Tatum and wife Angie, Konawa, Ladeana Andrews and husband Buddy, Roff, Dustin Simpson and wife Sarah, Nebraska, Chenee Standon, Ada, Jennifer Baxter and husband Chris, Ada, and James Samuel Kirk, Nebraska; 12 great grandsons; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Gary Wayne Simpson; two grandsons, Amos Emery and Nathan Standon; two sisters, Ella Belt and Edna Moore; and a son-in-law, Curtis Standon.
Bearers will be Brandon Tatum, Dylan Tatum, Dustin Simpson, Chris Baxter, Jimmie Joe Tingle and Matt Dew. Honorary bearers will be James (Sammy) Kirk, James Wingard, LeeRoy Reynolds, Gene Bertwell, Bubba Gage and Brian Bailey.
