LEE VIOLET

ADA-Services for Lee Violet, 96, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Toby Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mr. Violet died Sunday, January 31, 2010 at a local nursing home. He was born October 24, 1913 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to John W. and Hazel Hornberger Violet. He attended school at Ravia, Oklahoma and moved to this area from Johnston County.

He married Marian Dunlap. She preceded him in death on December 31, 2006 in Ada. Mr. Violet was a mechanic and co-owner of Violet and Gregg Garage and Violet's Greenhouse, retiring in the mid 1980's. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ.

Survivors include a daughter, Janis Walker and husband Jerry, Ada, a son, Gary Violet, Miami, Florida; one step-son, Frank Dunlap, Colorado Springs, CO; four grandchildren, Cindy Current, Felecia Whitworth, Jared Dunlap and Carissa Dunlap; five great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren.

Bearers will be Jerry Walker, Brian Current, Ruben Juarez, Barry Whitworth, Walker Whitworth and Ryan Williams. Honorary bearers will be Ronnie Hart, Jerry Elliott, Robert Scrutchins, John Wayne Hoggatt, Frank Dunlap and Gary Violet.
