LAWRENCE WAGGONER

PICKETT-Memorial services for Lawrence A. Waggoner, 77, Pickett, are 2:00 p.m Thursday at the Community Free Will Baptist Church in Pickett. Rev. John Henry Lippard will officiate.

Mr. Waggoner died Sunday, February 7, 2010 at his home. He was born July 3, 1932 at Scullin, Oklahoma to Lowe Allen and Nora Miller Waggoner. He attended schools in Hickory and graduated from Hickory High School. He received a Bachelor's Degree from East Central University and a Master's Degree in Education from East Central University.

He married Gemma Gordon in Alta Loma, California. Mr. Waggoner was a retired school teacher, a cattle rancher and a member of Community Free Will Baptist Church in Pickett. Mr Waggoner served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged as a Corporal.

Survivors include his wife, Gemma Waggoner, of the home; a daughter, Laurie Preston; two sons, Mark Waggoner and Robert Waggoner; ten grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
