L.D. BRADY
STONEWALL-Services for L. D. Brady, 69, Stonewall are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Stonewall First Baptist Church, Rev. Richard Dickerson will officiate. Burial will follow at Jesse Cemetery.
Mr. Brady died Thursday, September 22, 2011 at his home. He was born March 13, 1942 in Stonewall to H. R. "Hank" and Noma Stewart Brady. He lived in the Stonewall area where he attended Stonewall Schools and graduated in 1960. He received a Bachelor's degree in Physical Education and History from East Central University in 1964.
He married Glenda Sue Dale on August 10, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Stonewall. They lived in Coalgate, Stonewall, Rush Springs and back to the Jesse area where they have lived since 1990. While in Coalgate, Mr. Bady worked part-time for Cooper Funeral Home where he was an embalmer, ambulance driver and funeral attendant. From 1965-1966, he was the Principal, teacher and coach at Ahloso Grade School. He was a pumper for Conoco Oil for 19 years, a rancher, and had worked for Stonewall schools in the maintenance department for almost 20 years. He was a fisherman, hunter and sports fan. Mr. Brady was a longtime active member of the Stonewall First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Brady, of the home; his children, Deena Shepherd and her husband Brad of Kingfisher, Michael Brady and his wife Deana of Rush Springs, and Brad Brady and his wife Denae of Stonewall; his grandchildren, Tyler and Bradyn Shepherd, Myka Brady, and Tatam, Gage and Kaeson Brady; his siblings, Wilma and Marion Ledbetter, Stonewall, R. V. and Sharon Brady, Stonewall, Louis and Blanche Brady, Tecumseh, Nola and Johnny Daniel, Stonewall, June and Howard Pharr, Stonewall, Barbara Coleman of Kansas, and Imogene Pierce, Midwest City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, H. R. "Hank" and Noma Brady; and a brother, Donald "Dunk" Brady.
Bearers will be Kevin Flowers, Larry Brady, Isaac Thomas, Rance Kowey, Bill McGeehee, and Jon Saint, Jr. Honorary bearers will be Sam Townsend, Johnny Daniel, Pat Daniel, Glen Haney, Jerry Stewart, Glen McDonald, Howard Pharr, Larry Jackson, Charles Hisaw and Lewis Abbott.
