MIKE MORRIS
ADA-Services for Kenneth Michael "Mike" Morris, 58, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Southwest Church of Christ, Bill Green will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mr. Morris died Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at his home. He was born February 25, 1953 in Ada, Oklahoma to Theodore Roosevelt and Carrie Alene. He attended Napier Grade School the Ada School System and graduated from Byng High School in 1971. He received an Associate of Arts Degree in Autobody from Okmulgee Tech. He was active in several sports: track, football, basketball and baseball.
Mike married Diane Winrow on August 29, 1975 in Shawnee. Mr. Morris was employed with People's Electric Cooperative in Ada from March 3, 1975 until the present. He was a longtime member of Hammond Heights Church of Christ. He was a volunteer for the Amercian Red Cross, a high school basketball referee, and a Boy's and Girl's Club basketball and soccer coach, and a baseball and softball coach. He played softball. Mr. Morris was a board member of the Ada Housing Authority.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; and five sisters, Cloveter Richardson, Carolyn Jackson, Doris Daniels, Carrie Francis Richardson, and Geraldine Collins.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Morris, of the home; and his four children, Sonya (Preston) Brown of Ada, Mistie (Robert) Glynn of Waco, TX, Kindra (Mario) Hooper of Oklahoma City, and Joshua Morris of Denver, CO; he has three brothers, Harvey Richardson of Ada, Garry (Linda) Morris of Stillwater, and Pat (Lynie) Richardson of Ada; two sisters, Linda (Moses) Darden of Wichita, KS, and Diane (Mike) Ingram of Denver, CO; and he has eight grandchildren.
Bearers and flower bearers will be family and friends.
