IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kelly Jo
Crabtree
June 16, 1967 – February 16, 2024
Kelly Jo Crabtree passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on Friday, February 16th, 2024, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Kelly was born on June 16th, 1967, to Jack and Joella Borcherding in Overton, TX. She grew up in Carrollton, TX, home to the childhood memories she cherished and lifelong friendships she made. Kelly graduated from Newman Smith High School in 1985 before attending the University of North Texas, where she graduated with a bachelor's in business administration. Upon graduation, she began her career as a State Farm Claim Representative in Dallas, TX, where she worked for more than a decade.
In 1992, she met Jim McGill. They married in 1995 and raised three children together, Madeline Eve Short, Meredith Grace McGill, and Alexander James McGill. The family relocated to Ada in 2000, becoming a part of the community there, developing close friendships, and creating fond memories for the entire family. Kelly and Jim separated in 2015 but remained friends.
Kelly first and foremost dedicated her life to her kids. She treasured her children dearly and was demonstrably proud of them. She was also a devoted friend. As an only child, Kelly thought of her friendships as sisterhood and was passionate, honest, and loving to those who were fortunate to call her friend. She had such a youthful spirit, a joyful laugh, and a caring heart. Kelly was also a dedicated, reliable, hard-working employee during her more recent years at Oak Hills Country Club.
On October 26th 2019, Kelly married Adam Crabtree. The two had been together for years, and their love was a powerful force and beautiful to witness. They enjoyed many trips together, especially to their favorite vacation destination in Exuma, Bahamas. Kelly loved her community at the Oak Hills Country Club and spending time on the golf course.
Kelly is preceded by her mother, Joella Iles Borcherding. She is survived by her father, Jack Borcherding; her husband, Adam Crabtree; her children, Madeline Short, Meredith McGill, and Alexander McGill; and son-in-law, Collin Short.
For those who wish to make a donation in Kelly's honor the family requests donations to be sent to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
Please join us in celebrating her life Thursday, February 22nd, 2024, at 2:00pm H20 Church, 16615 County Road 1560 Ada, OK 74820.
