Kathlyn Wilken

Funeral services for Kathlyn Rae Wilken, 67, of Shawnee are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church Rollow Chapel, Rev. Stephen Nation will officiate. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wilken died Sunday, October 7, 2018 at a Shawnee hospital. She was born July 3, 1951 in Greene, Iowa to Ray Anderson and Olive Lucille Junker Tindall.

She married Richard Romans Wilken on April 14, 2013 in Ada. Mrs. Wilken was a youth counselor for Project Gabriel, and worked with CASA and the Ada Youth Shelter.  She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Wilken enjoyed working in her garden, raising flowers, quilting and baking. She collected refurnished antiques, raised and trained horses and also enjoyed wood-working.

Mrs. Wilken loved spending time with her grandchildren, her church family, and she loved volunteering her time to help with Project Gabriel.

Survivors include her husband, Richard Wilken of the home; a son, Jesse Murray and wife Megan of Perkins; two daughters, Kristina Brashears and husband Justin of Byng and Katelyn Murray of Ada; four grandchildren, Reese Brashears, Adalyn Murray, Makinley Brashears and Rhett Murray; a brother, Larry Tindall; a sister, Karyl McFate, and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Tom Tindall and Bud Tindall; her first husband, John Beachler and second husband, Richard Murray.

Honorary bearers will be Ellene Meek, Jerry Meek, Richard Byrd, Jerry Chancellor, Eric Morris and Kathy Chancellor.
