ADA-Services for Lottie Kathleen Alford, 86, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church, Rev. John Haynes, Dr. Pat Kilby and Rev. Harold Ware will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Alford died Sunday, May 10, 2009 at her home. She was born May 1, 1923 in the Pecan Grove Community, south of Ada, Oklahoma to Jesse Floyd and Ivory Jewel Elmore Hisaw. She lived in the Ada area all her life and graduated from Latta High School in 1941.
She married Paul R. Alford September 27, 1941 at Coalgate, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 6, 2006. Mrs. Alford was a homemaker and a longtime active member of the First Baptist Church. She served for many years as the Children's and Pre-school Director and Sunday School Teacher at Oak Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Paula Wilfong and her husband John, Ada, and Pamla Armstrong and her husband Greg, Ada; four grandchildren, Anslea Steele and husband Eric, Edmond, Erin Wilfong and wife Mackenzie, Kansas City, MO, Jeremy Armstrong, Ada, and Shane Armstrong and wife Megan, Prairie Village, KS; and three great grandchildren, Braden Paul Steele, Edmond, Abby Kate Steele, Edmond, and Carter Scott Wilfong, Kansas City, MO.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, Floyd and Jewel Hisaw, a sister, June Mapes, and a brother, Jesse Floyd Hisaw.
Bearers will be her sons-in-law, grandsons, and great grandson.
