Habel, Katelyn Leath—There is joy in heaven today. Our Katelyn has gone home. Katie was born August 23, 2006 in Ada, OK. Her mother's hero and sweet guide for two short years and seventeen days, Katelyn died in her mommy's loving arms on Monday, September 8, 2008 at the OU Children's Hospital in Oklahoma City, OK. Katelyn was diagnosed with congenital heart disease and underwent a number of surgeries hoping to extend her time with her loving family. She grew to be the heart of her family and shared her loving, happy spirit daily with her mommy. Today with her passing she leaves a great void in our lives. We love you Katie and look to the day that we will all join you in heaven. What a happy party we will have and we will have an eternity to be together. Katie is survived by her mother Ashley Habel; her grandparents Mary and David Dickson; uncle Damon and aunt Joni Habel and their children Damon and Karli; great uncle Charles and great aunt Sandi McClure and their children Chad and Stephanie; great aunt Leath and great uncle John Pitta and their children Maren and Colin; great grandmother Hazel Habel; great uncle Marvin and great aunt Mary Habel and their children Rusty and Dusty; great grandparents Aleen and Rueben Dickson; great aunt Sharon and great uncle Jim Cobb and their children Trisha and Vicki; great uncle Raymond and great aunt Susie Dickson and their children Jill and Jennifer; great uncle Roger and great aunt Frankie Ramsdell and their son Ronald and countless others her life touched. A memorial service to celebrate Katie's spirit will be held Saturday, September 13, 10:30 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church, 302 S. Seminole in Okmulgee, OK. Please make donations to benefit Mended Little Hearts, 2112 Brookview Lane, Edmond, OK 73034, in her name in place of flowers. Mended Little Hearts gives support to children and families of children with heart disease.
