BIG HENRY
ADA-Services for Julian H. "Big" Henry, 85, Ada, are 12:00 Noon Thursday at the Criswell Chapel, Floyd Kaiser officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Henry died on Monday, June 2, 2008, at a local nursing home. He was born June 15, 1922, at Fitzhugh to Floyd T. and Alta M. Hunsaker Henry. He moved to Ada from Stratford in 1927 and attended Willard and Horace Mann schools. He also attended East Central for two years. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Medal. He and his father and brother owned and operated Henry and Sons Furniture in Ada for many years and he later worked as an Oklahoma State Highway Patrol Trooper and as a rural mail carrier for 24 years. He was a member of the Ada Elks Lodge and also Southwest Church of Christ.
He married Beth Fuller on August 14, 1940, at Coalgate, Oklahoma. She preceded him in death on May 20, 2004 at Ada.
Survivors include a brother, John Henry and wife Willimae, Nocona, Texas; a granddaughter, Lisa Henry, Lake Jackson, Texas; a step-granddaughter, Jennifer Falcone, Houston, Texas; a niece, Janet Alexander, Ada; a nephew, Mike Henry, Marshall, Texas; a sister-in-law, LoRene Fuller, Ada; and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Dane Stephen Henry, and a sister, Connie Clinton.
Bearers are Jim Hamby, Eddie Easterling, Burl Webb, Dale Snow, Don Butler and Johnny Brassfield.
