In Loving Memory of Judy Counts Quaid

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Judy Counts Quaid, a beloved mother, wife, sister, and friend. Judy left this world on September 26, surrounded by her family, after a brave battle with cancer, at the age of 81.

Judy was born on February 18th 1942 in Wilmington, North Carolina to Chester and Augusta Counts, Jr. She was the second of three siblings and grew up in Wilmington, where her vibrant spirit and warm-hearted nature shone brightly from a young age.

Judy's journey through life was marked by an unwavering commitment to family, a passion for community service, and an infectious zest for life. She began her lifelong passion early in life becoming an accomplished seamstress.  She sewed and decorated everything from dresses, costumes, drapes, furniture, just to name a few.  Many many young women have her to thank for successful weddings, cheerleading, proms, and special events due her dedication, skill, and creativity while making their ideas come to life.

Judy met the love of her life, Tommy W. Quaid, Sr. at her father's small grocery store, and the two embarked on a lifelong journey filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.  Judy and Tom settled in Ada, Oklahoma in 1966 to start a family.  She was a devoted mother to her two children, Tommy and James.

Later in her life, Judy was an active member of her church, dedicating her time and energy to various charitable organizations and causes close to her heart. Her selflessness touched the lives of many, and she leaves behind a trail of positive impact and goodwill that will continue to be felt for generations to come.

Judy's memory will be forever cherished by her family, including her children, son Tommy and wife Amy, son James and wife Tamara, her adoring grandchildren Daniel, Hanna, Noah, her great grandchild Tessa, sister Kay Godwin and husband Steve and their children John Mark Blackman, Garlon Blackman and Rebekah Ellis, sister-in-law Nancy Beal Counts and children Chester Carter Counts IV and David Allen Counts, and her extended family and friends who were lucky enough to have known her. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Chester Counts, Jr. and Helen Augusta Counts, husband Tom Quaid, Sr., and brother Chester Carter Counts, III.

Private services with her immediate family will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made on her behalf to Asbury United Methodist Church, PO Box 2342, Ada, OK  74820, an organization close to Judy's heart.

Judy Counts Quaid may have left this world, but her memory will forever remain etched in our hearts, a testament to a life filled with love, compassion, and purpose. Rest in peace, dear Judy, your light will continue to shine brightly in our lives.
