ADA-Services for Joyce Annette Lee, 68, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Ada First Free Will Baptist Church, Rev. Derek Altom will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lee died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at a local hospital. She was born October 26, 1944 in Ada, Oklahoma to John Ray and Evelyn Bandy Lee. She lived in this area all her life and attended Latta schools. She graduated from Latta High School in 1962. She received a Bachelor's and Master's degrees from East Central University.
She married Benny Eldon Jones. Mrs. Lee taught English, Speech and Library Science at Roff School until her retirement. She was a longtime active member of the First Free Will Baptist Church where she taught the Believer's Sunday School Class since 1995. She was a member of the Women's Ministry and had also served as the church secretary, treasurer and clerk for 8 years. She was a former member of the Oklahoma Education Association and the National Education Association.
Survivors include a son, Kenny Eldon Jones and his wife Hope of Sachse, Texas; a grandson, Jason Seth Jones of Sachse, Texas; granddaughter, Sydney Anne Jones of Sachse, Texas; a brother, Alfred Lee and his wife Vickie of Ada; a sister, Geneva Hayes and her husband James of Kingston, OK; a sister-in-law Lenora Lee of Ada; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kevin Lee Jones; and a brother, Marvin Lee.
Bearers will be her nephews. Honorary bearers will be the Believer's Sunday School Class.
