Joyce Edwards

Services for Joyce Edwards, 81, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Benny Cope will officiate. Burial will follow at Lightning Ridge Cemetery near Roff.

Mrs. Edwards passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at an Oklahoma City hospice. She was born July 31, 1938 near Lightning Ridge to Elmer "Jack" and Jewel Madden Stephens. She attended school at Roff.

She married Bill Edwards in 1975. He preceded her in death in 1996. Mrs. Edwards was a waitress and former manager of the Circle K Quick Stop in Ada.

Survivors include a daughter, Paula Coplen and her fiancé, James Smith, Ada; three great-grandsons she reared, Justin Tate, Jr., Cory Tate and Tyler Tate; three grandchildren, Starla Tate, Ada, Kara Coplen, Noble and Jesse Ray Coplen, Ada; other great-grandchildren, Demetrie Walker, Nino Walker, Aubranna Coplen, Lamya Eddy, Cashton Coplen and Onyx Coplen; three sisters, Phyllis Hale and husband Terry, Roff, Sue Jones and husband Allan and Judy Cheek and husband Ronnie, all of Ada; four brothers, Chuck Stephens, Dee Stephens and wife Barbara, and Jackie Stephens and wife Patti, all of Oklahoma City and Jimmy Stephens and wife Diane, Edmond; a brother-in-law, Wayne Miller, Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Delores Stephens, Noble; many nieces and nephews; and daughter-in-law, Kim Haney Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Preston Stephens and Cletus Stephens; three sisters, Betty Horton, Maxine Miller and Cathy Hill; a son-in-law, Roy Coplen; and two brothers-in-law.

Bearers will be Paula Coplen (her daughter), James Smith, Justin Tate, Jr., Cory Tate, Justin Tate, Sr., Clayton (CJ) Shaw, James Shaw and Cameron Williams.
