JOY COPELAND HARP
ADA-Services for Joy Copeland Harp, 80, Ada, are 10:00 A.M. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Rev. John Haynes officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Criswell Funeral Home on Friday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M.
Mrs. Harp died on Wednesday, February 16, 2011, at a local nursing home. She was born November 12, 1930, in Ada, to Jess and Vera Whelchel Sloan. She attended school at Hickory, Roff and Ada. She was a sales clerk at Clothes Corner for many years and was a longtime active member of First Baptist Church.
She married Guy Copeland on July 10, 1947. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1988. She married Harold Harp on January 18, 1992. He preceded her in death on September 4, 2003.
Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Copeland, Ada; and Freda Low, Ada; three step-children, Rita Cloar and husband Joe, Ada; Ronnie Harp and wife Lois, McLoud; and Randy Harp and wife Margarette, Ada; grandchildren, Richard Graham Cook, David Wayne Cook, Daniel Shane Cook, Lisa Dawn Cook, Keri Ann Smart, Stephen Smart and wife Kelli, and Alyssa Joy Low; 6 step-grandchildren, Ria Huckeby and husband Adam, Jay Cloar, Lori Harp, Matthew Harp, Natalie Harp, and Jamie Harp; 15 great grandchildren; and sisters, Patsy Seigenthaler, Muskogee, and Janis Connell, North Richland Hills, TX.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Ann Copeland; her parents; a grandson, Todd Alan Smart; her sisters, Pauline Oliver, Arlene Davis, Betty Roark; and brothers, Bobby Sloan and Richard Sloan.
Bearers are Stephen Smart, Joe Cloar, Randy Roark, Mike Roark, Randy Harp and Ronnie Harp. Honorary bearers are Jay Cloar, Adam Huckeby, Matthew Harp and Jeff Low.
