JOSEPHINE ATWOOD

ADA-Services for Josephine W. "Jo" Atwood, 76, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Aaron Finney and Gary Curry will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Atwood died Friday, October 26, 2007 at a local hospital. She was born August 11, 1931 at Soper, Oklahoma to Joe C. and Bethel Foster Randell. She attended Boswell and Soper schools. She came to the Ada area in 1949.

She married Robert Doyle Atwood, Sr. in 1971 at Ada, Oklahoma. He died on November 21, 1989 in Ada. Mrs. Atwood was a cook at several resturants in the Ada area. She was the main cook at the Salvation Army Church Camp for many years. She was an active member of the Salvation Army for fifty plus years until 1995, due to health reasons. She also taught Sunday school, Girl Guards, JR. Soldiers, Corps Cadets and filled in for church services when needed. Mrs. Atwood was a long-standing member of the Salvation Army Home League.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Walter "Walt" Randell and Jimmy C. "Josh" Randell.

Survivors include one son, Robert Doyle Atwood, Jr., Texas; sisters, Lucille Shumard, Byng, Mary Ann Watham, Asher, and Kathy Hays, Ada; one brother, Joe Earl Randell and wife Pat, Grandview, TX; two grandchildren, Brandon and Sabrina Atwood, and their mother, Belinda Haley, Baytown, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bearers will be Billy Duncan, James Randell, Joe Weddle, Joe Robert Randell, Will Randell, James Lee Randell, Mikell Harbin and Tony Paul Randell.

Honorary bearers are Robert S. Weddle, Leslie Gregory, Roger Weddle, John Hays, Glenn Weddle and Kenny Arthur.
